JESSICA WOLF

A terrific restaurant cannot exist without a captain. Jessica has devoted over ten years to Artisans & Oak, and brings that same dedication and passion for hospitality and experience to OAK. Her influence is indelible and extraordinary. An irreplaceable individual, she is the heartbeat of our restaurant.

Born in the Ohio Valley, Jessica experienced a diverse upbringing. Living in cities throughout the country, including Minneapolis, Omaha, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Kansas City, and most notably summer stays abroad in Paris, France before transplanting to Gettysburg. After studying and working a career in retail purchasing and accounting, she decided to embark in the world of culinary and hospitality.

Upon graduating with a Pastry & Baking degree from The Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts at YTI, she spent time immersed in the diverse culinary scene of San Francisco. Training alongside some of the city’s top chefs, merging cooking techniques with her aesthetic, culture, and creative methods learnt during her studies.

Jessica is now OAK’s resident pastry chef, baker, and restaurant director. She has developed her personal vision of a thoughtful, seasonal, and spontaneous restaurant. In love with all that surrounds food: ingredients, techniques, styling, culture, storytelling – envelope that passion that is her.

SHAUN WOLF

As a native Hanoverian, Shaun Wolf grew up in a family that celebrated cooking. As a youth he regularly accompanied his grandmothers on weekly trips to the Hanover Market where he garnered an appreciation for fresh ingredients and local producers. Early on Shaun found a natural comfort and curiosity in the kitchen, often cooking by his grandmother’s side. Heeding the advice he followed his passion to Philadelphia in 2007 where he attended the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.

During his time in Philly, Shaun was fortunate to cook in some of the city’s top restaurants alongside some of the city’s best chefs and James Beard award recipients. Philadelphia is also where Wolf’s instilled passion for the craft of wood-fired cooking also began.

Shaun returned to Hanover to work at Pomona’s Wood-fired Café, where he further developed his version of American wood fire cuisine. Shaun opened Artisans & Oak in 2014, where it has since been the Hanover staple in wood-fired pizza. Today, Wolf is the chef/owner of OAK in downtown Hanover.
